NEW PUNCH!

I think I am becoming addicted to punches! When I went to get my mail this morning, LO and BEHOLD a present was sitting there for me! Loreen sent me the new EKSuccess Paper Shaper punch! Its a swirl design and I LOVE IT!! Thank you so much Loreen for this great punch and it is awesome! She knows I'm becoming addicted to these punches! So I had started a card yesterday and just couldn't get it right. I even colored up some different images! Finally I dug and came up with Cherry Tilda, who by the way is a total doll! I love the cherries, gotta be the red! Still had no idea what to do. Digging through all my paper scraps I found a 4 3/8 circle I had cut out with my Coluzzle. I thought well if I can do the hearts in a circle with my corner heart punch, let me try this. I punched all along the the cirlce and it came out perfect! Also gives me lots of swrils to use on my next project. Used my nesties for the ovals. You have to order one of these punches! They are just to much fun and the idea's and uses are endless!!!

More Corner Punch Ideas!

Well, I do love punches but never can be very inventive! I ordered 3 corner punches from Loreen at Wish on a Scrap
They are awesome! I used my Coluzzle to cut out the circle, pied the circle and punched between the pieces. If you hold the punch at an angle, soooo easy. Then cut anotehr circle to put the punched out cirlce on. I had some great chipboard pieces that I had never used. They came from the $ store. This was so easy to do!
Give it a try, you will be amazed how easy it is.

Liquid Applique - Day 3

How fun is this? LOTS!

I love colors and I love liquid applique....put the two together and you get LOADS of fun! There are so many options for the liquid applique....and the colors give it that much more versatility! I made these super cute snowmen (and woman...the pink and purple one....hee hee) ornaments...and just couldn't wait to share with all of you! Liquid Applique - Day 2

I got this super cute Pooh Bear stamp from my Grandma (as she didn't want it anymore) and thought this would work PERFECT on ornaments! Of course as soon as I stamped them I just knew I had to use liquid applique on these cutie patooties! Aren't they just adorable?! I love how they turned out! Liquid Applique - Day 1

When Loreen asked me what I would like to play with next, I immediately thought of Liquid Applique! I have seen so many people use it on their cards for the "fluff" on Santa's hat and the like! And the look it gives is so great!!! Did you know this stuff comes in MANY different colors?!? Wow the possibilities are endless when it comes to creating!

Today I am going to share with you my snow creations using white liquid applique! I made a BUNCH of these candy bar wrappers for the craft fair that I was in recently and they sold like hot cakes!

Ooops, this next one kind of got smudged! Didn't even realize it until now! ha ha!

Daleclaria Tilda

Well after recieving 6 new mags yesterday in the mail from Loreen the ole MOJO returned! So last night, the dining room table became a mess once again.
The base of the card is from SCS and is called a Double pocket card. I made this a while back. Worked perfect for what I wanted. Tilda with Dalecarlia Coat, I love this stamp! Colored with my Prisma's and googone. Nesties used for rectangles, DP is from TAC, Penelope and Willoughby,I love that paper! Ribbon is stash. I used a snowflake punch for the snowflakes and colored them with my dewdrops, just a touch of stickles and a pale green rhinestone in the middle! The little tree is also a punch. Winter Wishes is Fiskars "Tis the Season" acrylic stamp set. The card has two pockets but I only used one. The little envie is done on my enveloper, a wonderful gift from Loreen! Thanks Loreen!!! I love that tool! Making envies are FUN! I tied it with ribbon! I used my scor mat from Scor-Pals and that is also a great tool! all those angles are a cinch!

Magnolia Heaven!

Loreen just started carrying the Magnolia stamps and I was one happy girl to order some of these fun Tilda stamps! I love the Magnolias, and they are so much fun to color!

First I made this super fun card with Tilda with Hood! I colored her with my Copics, and used liquid applique and glitter for the edging on her hood and shawl. Tim Holtz snowflake embossing powder was used on the sentiment.

Next I made a candle with Tilda with Dalecarlia Coat. This Tilda is so darn cute. I stamped her with my Stazon jet black ink onto tissue paper. Then I colored her with my Copics. After adhering her to the candle with wax paper and my heat tool, I added some stickles to glitz her up! Then added the snowflakes and bling for extra shine!
I can't wait to ink up the others that I have ordered! So be on the look-out for more samples! I also have some surprises that I have made this weekend and will have them posted later this week, so make sure you stop back!!!

Purse Book Project

This is the BIG project I was talking about, the one I said you were going to love using the Wish on a Scrap Kit. It looks like a purse, but it's actually a little photo holder! That's right, open this darling up and you've got a spot for 2 pictures! What a way to showcase your work!

I got this project idea from a blog called Stampspaperscissors. However, since I didn't have many of the items she used for her project, I kinda created my own variation of this darling little project, perfect for a gift for any female in one's life.

And I LOVE the way it looks at an angle. That fold is just so cool I think. Sure it could have been a flat based purse, but this gives it so much more character!
And here's the little detail on the front of the purse. The ribbon and hardware are not from this month's kit, but everything else is. As for the interior, well I decided to use 2 stamped images in the smaller areas, you could always use flowers but since I'm a book lover I decided to use images related to that. You can also see from this picture how I used velcro to adhere the top together.There are a few more pictures on my blog. Please swing by and say hello!

I cannot get by without making a card! I love to make cards, love bling! and I love this October kit! The ribbon is from my stash! Everything else is from the Oct. kit. The chipboard is from the Sept. kit! I made an envie to go with this card. ON... drum roll.....The ENVELOPER!! What a cool tool that is! I made the box envelope. Just the right amount of room in there to make your cards EXTRA thick! Of course this won't be going through the mail, but I just think its that added extra touch to a card!

OK Crafters....so I told you I was working on a SUPER fun project with this kit! Here are my nugget tins that I have been working on! These are SO easy and fun to make! You can head on over to Wish On A Scrap to get your tins, paper, adhesives, and flowers to put these fun tins together! These would make WONDERFUL gifts for family, friends, and teachers....who doesn't love chocolate! I know I do!

To make these fun tins all you need is: Hershey Nuggets, your little pieces of paper (cut 1" x 3") for each nugget, your tin (of course), and whatever you would like to decorate the outside of the tins!

Can I just tell you, every month I say, "WOW, this is the best kit Loreen has EVER put together..." but this month, she's blown me away. The October Wish on a Scrap kit is by far the best kit I've seen for this month.

So I thought I'd share my first creation with it. Sorry that the pictures are a little dark, I took them at 11:30pm and there wasn't much light. But you can see what I made. It's a card holder with 3 cards. The papers are just so yummy, I've been hording it like a fool!

Another Kit Creation!

I am just on a roll with this kit! I am so in love with it that I can't keep my hands off of the paper! I am a crafting machine with this kit! Woo-Hoo! The paper and flowers are from the kit; however, the ink and copics are also from Loreen!

Kim is right, this kit is FABULOUS!! The colors are rich! All of my favorite colors on paper! I did something I normally don't do, ALTER! I'm not good at it, for some reason getting from the brain to the fingers don't make it! My granddaughter Reese had her first birthday! Her colors? Pink and brown!! Paper was perfect for something to make for her in rememberance of that party! So I made a coaster frame. Put my favorite photo of her in it, and give it to my daughter M, for Reeses room.
The idea's are endless with this paper!!! Super kit Loreen!!! Love everything in there! THANK YOU!!!

AWESOME October Kit!

Let me just tell you! Loreen has out done herself again! This Wish On A Scrap October Kit is AWESOME!!!! It's by far my favorite one yet....probably because it consists of lots of pink and brown...I guess I am bias with those colors! Hee hee!

Cuttlebug Beaded Fun!

Welcome to my 1st Tutorial for Wish On A Scrap! I was so excited when Loreen asked me to make a tutorial for all of you with such awesome supplies! I had so much fun playing with these beads....just beware when you play you will have little beads all over the place. hee hee! Well I sure did! You will be taking your everyday Cuttlebug embossing folder and turning it into a whole new tool to give you a very elegant look!

For this project you will need:
1. Cuttlebug with A plate and both B plates;
2. Cuttlebug Embossing Folder of your choice;
3. Ink (I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink);
4. Brayer;
5. Sticky Powder; and
6. Micro Beads (these come in MANY colors....e-mail Loreen what color you want and she can definitely get them for you!)
(All of the above items can be purchased from Loreen at Wish On A Scrap...you should head on over to get your supplies!)
First, you are going to take your brayer and get it all full of ink (make sure your folder has LOTS of ink on it....you are going to have to work fast so that your ink doesn't dry before you put your sticky powder on). Roll your ink on which ever side of the embossing folder that you want your beads on. For this project I chose the background area to have the beads and then then branches would be embossed without any beads. (Don't worry about your embossing folder getting stained, I just rinsed mine off with water almost 20 minutes after I was done making my project and the folder cleaned right up!)
Next, you are going to place your paper inside your embossing folder. Then sandwich your folder as you normally would when embossing. (A plate on the bottom, then a B plate, then your embossing folder, and then another B plate.) Crank this sandwich through your Cuttlebug.
Take your paper out of the embossing folder and immediately cover the paper full of sticky powder as shown below.
When you tap off the excess sticky powder your paper should look like the below picture.
You will then use your heat tool to heat up all the sticky powder which will create the adhesive so your beads will stick to your paper.
Once you have all the paper nice and warm, immediately dip the sticky side of your paper into your tub with your micro beads. You might have to rewarm the sticky powder to get all of the beads to stick.
After your paper is completely covered in beads, take your heat tool and warm up the whole page once again to set the beads.And that is how you create an awesome bead page for your cards or scrapbook pages. Below is a card that I created with this technique. The beads add that extra flare to your card!

Magic Stamp - Fun with Matty's Foot

Loreen sent me another fun project to test out and give my opinion to the masses, it's called Magic Stamp and is a piece of foam that can be heated up and takes the impression of anything you want to use to create a stamp. You can use, clothes pins, buttons, crayons, flowers, etc. Really, anything you want to use for your impression.
It all sounded so fascinating that I had to try it out. And what better item to use for my test run, Matty's foot (thank goodness that I did it a few days ago, at 6 months his foot is already so big it took up the entire piece of foam!).

I then outlined his foot with a blue copic that matched the ink I used to help define his foot even better and added a few rub-ons and rain dots to complete the card.

So What Can You Do With Glitter?

Well, you've already seen my cute little glittery brads. And here's the card I made for Kim's PIF Card Challenge adding a touch of glitter just to create some fun shimmer and shine on her trick or treat bucket as well as the circle up top!

So why not create some glittery embellishments?

These two little guys were so easy to create, and you can really make them with any stamps you have. The bear (not sure who makes him, the box just said "Baby Scrapbooking", was colored in with my copics and then using a little glue, I sprinkled some glitter on his tummy. By the way, you can purchase BOTH glitter and copic markers with Loreen here at Wish on a Scrap. The buttony one, that was a little more complicated. The stamp set I used was Autumn Leaves - Sentiments Circles.

Plastic Frames and Glitter Fun

About a year ago, I found someone on ebay selling a case (like hundreds) for clear plastic 4x6 picture frames for really cheap, and I thought... What a great deal!!! I forgot to ask myself what would I do with hundreds of these frames. A year later, and I've barely scratched the surface. However I have been having fun making things with them, and sharing my ideas with you all (such as my post it holders and calendars that you can see in the Altered Art tag on my blog).

So here's another pair of 2009 calendars. I got the template for the calendar itself HERE. I made them using the September Wish on a Scrap kit paper. One of them I used the limeade fibers that were an add-on for the kit and the other I used green glitter that Loreen sent me to mess around with. I have to say, I think I really am enjoying glitter. I really only thought I'd be able to use it for my brad creating, but it's slowly appearing on lots of other things I've been making. You'll have to stay tuned to see where else it's showing up.

Post It Note Key Chains!

Happy Friday Everyone!!! Today I have some post-it note key chains to share with you! These are so much fun to make and are so cute too! Who couldn't use paper right at their finger tips! I know I need paper at the strangest times (which I usually don't have it with me)....not anymore with these cute holders!

Fun Note Card Folder Gift Set

These note card folders were so easy and lots of fun to make. I got the tutorial from Katharina's blog. Then I made some little note cards and customized some envelopes to put inside. This would make a wonderful gift for someone!

And now for the 2nd folder....this paper was so much fun too....it had flocking on it...just gorgeous:
And the inside view...I used my Baroque Motifs stamp set again...the brown ink is Momento in Cocoa, and the blue ink is Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China (which was part of the Sept. Wish Kit)...this was my 1st time using TH Distress Ink and I am HOOKED and just had to get a bunch more of it from Loreen....of course Loreen has all of the colors on her site, so go and check them out!

More Glitter

I don't want you to think that I just use glitter for blinging out my brads. NOOOOO! I want to share two little projects that I used more glitter for... an ATC and an Inchie!

Although you may not be able to see so well, one of those darling brads I used yesterday is on the corner of the Hambly overlay on this inchie. And I also used my blue glitter to create some pop for that flower. Rather then leaving it to be a white cut out, I covered it with some adhesive and poured more glitter all over that bad boy. The results, a beautifully sparkly flower made especially for this ATC. That's right, it's a one of a kind!

And using yet another one of my brads, I decided to go glitsy for an inchie as well. Covering my inchie just like I did with my brads yesterday, I coated it then with a mixed lot of the colors of glitter I had lying around on my table. Use a piece of Hambly overlay and then centered it with my favorite brad of the group yesterday, my green star!

Having Fun with Glitter - Embellishing Brads and More...

When Loreen asked me what I wanted to work with first now that I'm a part of the design clique, we started talking about different projects I've seen on the internet that I've always wanted to try. One of them was creating my own brads... The concept seemed simple enough. But little did we know, once that glitter showed up at my house, would I be playing with it in entirely different way. You can actually cater your brads to meet whatever your needs may be!

For starters, in order to embellish your own brads, there are a few things you'll need to get started - a bowl to put your glitter in, a piece of foam for your brads to dry on, a paper piercer to put holes in the foam (not pictures), brads (I used Making Memories) Inkssentials Glossy Accents, and glitter (I used Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter in Reggae - it has roughly 6 different color tubes of glitter you can use alone or mix them up!).

Pop some holes in the foam with enough space between them so that your brads aren't touching one another. You want to do this first so that you don't damage the brads when putting them into the foam block to dry.

Put your glitter into the bowl. Make sure the glitter is deep enough so that you aren't touching the bowl itself when pressing down with the brad.

Cover the head of the brad with the Glossy Accents and then dip the head of the brad into the glitter. You can use your fingers to gently press down onto the glittered head as well as make sure that your brad head has retained its own shape (for the star I went around it with my paper pierces so that it wasn't lumpy around the edges).

Let your brads dry for a day or two just to ensure that you don't loose any of the glitter. And there you have it.. nice and easy and designed perfectly for whatever you need your sparkly brads to match.

Craft Sunday!

Today I spent a lot of time playing with the September Kit and let me tell you that I can not get enough of these papers! I am having soooooo much fun playing with them! Everything that I make just seems to keep coming out WONDERFUL with these gorgeous papers! If you haven't seen the kit you need to head to the Wish On A Scrap store to check out what I am talking about!

Here is another card that I made to go along with my Card Holder Box from yesterday! I used the clear snap fibers in limeade from this month's add-ons to accent a few of the green lines on the paper...which added that little extra zing and bling! I used my circle nesties for decoration. The scalloped circle is sprayed with iridescent gold glimmer mist! Gotta love the bling look! The stamp is from the Stampin' Up set Baroque Motifs! I love that stamp set....it's my favorite!

Next, I altered a notepad that I had laying around from a $1 bin somewhere! I used my nesties again (which were purchased from Wish On A Scrap). I used cinnamon stickles as an accent on the scalloped circle. The letter T was stamped with my Stampin' up set Lovely Letters. I used Glossy Accents (that I purchased from Loreen) over top of the white circle to give it that extra shine. This is a gift for a friend.....but I can't tell you who yet, because I just made it today and don't want to ruin the surprise! Hee hee!
I decorated the inside by putting some big scallops on the edge of the paper!

September Kit Card Gift Box!

First off I want to say that Loreen did an amazing job picking out this kit! It is so much fun to play with!!!! For my first project on the Design Clique I made this cute little card gift box! It's big enough to fit cards the size of 4 1/4 x 5 inside! (The tutorial for this box can be found on Diana's blog.) This paper was so amazing to work with...you hardly had to emblish at all because of the beauty of the paper! If you look close at the blue background paper on my box, I used my silver glitter mist and stencils...the stencils are so much fun to play with....however a hint when using the glitter mist.....hold the bottle at least a foot away from your paper and coat the paper lightly (I held mine almost 2 feet away and slightly misted numerous coats on the paper. If you get to close and spray you will end up with big blotches of water on your paper and it looks really bad when it dries. Trust me on this because I did it the first time I tried playing today!) Here is the side view so you can see the dimension of the box!
And here's the other side with one of my cards inside that I also made with the September kit!
Here is the card! I used everything from the kit for this card except the ribbons that are tied in bows...those were from my stash. The ric rac and paper are all in the kit! Everything coordinates so WONDERFUL...it makes creating so easy!!!!!

What Amazing Add Ons!

I will be the first one to admit I wasn't sure what on earth I was going to do with the Clear Snap Fibers in Limeade from this month's add-ons. I've never really been a fiber gal, so using them was going to be a challenge for me. But then I decided it would be the perfect way to frame my bella, courtesy of one of my Design Clique friends, Kim. After using my sewing machine to do the stitching, I was able to use some clear glue and adhere the fibers. I then used a brayer to secure them and finally hand stitched my buttons onto the card. Oh and as for my coloring, it was done with copics that I bought through Wish on a Scrap. They really are a FANTASTIC investment.

Sept Kit Gift Bag Set

The Sept Kit worked perfect for my Gift Bag Set! I found the tutorial for the bag at Stampin'With Di. I've made one before but I enlarged this one to be 6x2x6. I used my MS border punch for the bottom and top borders. I cut out a circle and used my round flower punch by Fiskars to make the design in the handle. I then used my Coluzzle to cut out a center hole, cut it in half, and there was my handle! The ribbon is some I had in my stash to tie the bag shut. I added a tag to my bag and attached it with a little key chain I found! I made 3, 5.5x4.5 cards to go into the bag. Stamps are from Studio G and ribbon is from the stash bin! All CS is from the Sept kit. What fun paper to work with! It sure had my brain working!

This is my second card I made from the Sept. Kit from Wish on a Scrap. This was also fun and very easy! I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do with the card after I had the oval cut out using my nesties. I love the paper and didn't want to take away from it. So I colored up Tilda with the colors that are in the dp. Then I added a ribbon and a bow. Used my Fiskars border punch for the side border. This paper is remarkable, You don't even want to put anything on it! Looks wonderful just the way it is! And I'm so bad, I want to hoard everything and save it! LOL

Sept. Kit!

Oh wow! I'm the first one to post!! I'm so excited to be on the Wish on a Scrap Design Cligue!! Thanks Loreen for having me! Also to my 2 other Cligues!! Kim and Kimmie!! Aren't we going to have fun girls!
I had 3 days to play and finished two cards. Both cards are made with the Sept. Kit from Wish on a Scrap. I can't say enough good things about these kits. Loreen does a fantastic job putting them together and not much you need, she has add on's that you can purchase. So if you haven't bought one yet, try your first one! You won't be sorry! I haven't missed a kit yet!
This card was created with NO stamping! Its 4.5x4.5. I cut the border off one of the designer cardstock and used the flowers at the bottom. between the card and flowers I used my nesties for the ovals . My Fiskars border punch at the top. I cut out the stem with leaves and mounted in on another nestie cutout. I raised the image with my pop dots. The ribbon I had in my stash. The dew drops are from Wish on a Scrap and the blue rhinestones I had in my stash! This card was so fun to make! The idea's are endless for this layout!
